SKILLS DEVELOPMENT
One of our most popular services is our private or small group lessons. These private sessions are typically 1-3 hours in duration and are focused on YOU. We take your riding goals and then come up with a safe effective lesson plan to work on skills that will help towards those goals. We offer MTB, Road and Cyclocross specific sessions.
Coached by Andrew Watson who has dedicated years and countless hours to learning the physics, mechanics and nuances of riding and teaching different types of learners and all ages. Andrew is a NCCP Competition Development coach (Level 3) as well as a certified PMBIA Level 2 Air Instructor. Andrew is also a NCCP trained course facilitator delivering MTB Skills and Tactics as well as Basic Cycling Skills Modules.
Our Private Lesson process follows these steps.

1. Rider Goal
What would you like to be the outcome after a private lesson? We will discuss your main objective and your current abilities to come up with a main rider goal. This can be something like these common goals
MTB goals
"To ride over a log smoothly"
"To ride down a steep hill with control and without skidding"
"To corner smoother and faster"
"Ride drops with more confidence"
"To become more efficient and save energy"
Road Riding Goals
"To descend with more confidence"
"To corner faster"
"To climb faster with less effort"
Cyclocross Goals
"To ride through sand easier and faster"
"To navigate a series of tight corners faster"
"To dismount and remount more efficiently"
2.Lesson Plan
This is when we put together a lesson plan using key skills and maneuvers to help you achieve your riding goal. The plan will take into account your current riding skills, the terrain we will use and a few other considerations. You will also have some homework and take away drills and exercises to help you develop your skills further.
3.Schedule and conduct the lesson
Once we have your lesson plan all setup we can schedule the lesson date time and location that suits you the best. When you arrive at the lesson you should be well hydrated, well fueled and ready to learn. We always build in extra time so we can go longer if needed without rushing through the plan.
Cost
Our Private lessons are billed hourly including any travel time to and from the lesson location
$75/hr+hst
Semi Private groups 2-5 welcome no extra costs if paid by 1 person
